Waiting List for Aprilia Superteens

The Aprilia Superteen Championship goes from strength to strength and 2009 sees a full house of 56 registered riders for the series, which includes rounds at Moto GP and World Superbikes. A queue is also forming, with another 11 riders currently on the waiting list as and when a space becomes available and IN Competition are working flat out to keep up with the demand for the RS125 junior sports bikes. Riders from England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland are joined this year by one rider from Australia and 2 more on the waiting list from South Africa. The last Australian to enter the series was a certain Casey Stoner and young Matthew Davies from Melbourne is hoping to follow in Caseys rather successful footsteps. South African Brad Binder rode in the series last year and helped himself in his quest for a place in the MotoGP Red Bull Rookies Championship.

Jordan also had his first test session yesterday and looked very quick on both of his new bikes. We had a few problems with the brakes but that is what testing is all about! We are out again this Sunday at Mallory Park.

As is normal for this time of the year, Jordan is chomping at the bit to get out testing the new bikes, but this year it has been very difficult because there just isn't anywhere to ride. Because Jordan is only twelve years old, many race circuits will not let him ride because of insurance problems. Also the weather has not helped because he would normaly be out on the Motocross bike.

We are booked into a track afternoon on the 18th Feb at Mallory and the the Thudersport GB launch at Mallory on Feb 22nd. We have also booked into a race meeting on Mar 1st also at Mallory before the first round of the Superteen Championship at the Race of the Year (Mallory) begins on 13th, 14th and 15th March.

The new leathers have been ordered from Scott Leathers and will hopefully be ready in time. The rear suspension arrived yesterday and the front forks should also be here in time for the first Track day. We are going to KBC Helmets also on the 18th Feb to get measured for Jordan's new helmets and will then go straight to Mallory. The Race Truck will have all of the new sponsors logos on by the first round in March. The fairings are at JT Paint Sprayers being painted in the new black which we have to run this year, Once these are done and sponsors are finalised we will have the logos put on them. We are still desperatly trying to attract a title sponsor although in these difficult time this is proving very challenging. TES have already supplied our fuel card for the 2009 season and we would like to again thanl Tony Evans for this because fuel is one of our biggest costs.

See you at the track very soon!

THE BIG NEWS FOR 2009

As you may already be aware, we have once again secured the support race slots for the British Motorcycle Grand Prix at Donington Park (23rd - 26th July 2009) and the Aprilia Superteens will once more have the chance to ride in front of the MotoGP stars and fans. I cannot stress enough the interest expressed by Dorna, the FIM and the Red Bull Rookies management in the riders taking part in this event last year, with two riders (Fraser Rogers & Brad Binder) being selected for the Moto GP Red Bull Rookies in 2009. Over 450 press correspondents requested the results sheets and post race information bulletins specifically from the Aprilia Superteen races and that is an unprecedented level of PR for young riders. If you are intent on making a career out of motorcycle racing, this is absolutely the best way to ensure the people who promote the sport know all about you.

In addition to this, the Aprilia Superteens have been invited to compete at the British round of the Hanspree World Superbike Championship at Donington Park (26th - 28th June 2009) meaning that the official Aprilia Superteen Championship will be the only series to be represented at the only two World Championship road race events in Great Britain in 2009. With the increased number of manufacturers and an influx of British riders into the series, this event could easily be the biggest ever WSB event held at Donington Park.

ENTRIES

Once again, the Aprilia Superteen Challenge looks as though it will be heavily subscribed and in order to be completely fair with all competitors, entries will be prioritised on championship committment. Any rider intent on contesting the whole series is guaranteed acceptance to all rounds and will be accepted for both of the above World Championship meetings, which are limited to just 44 grid spaces each. We are planning on running a 2 from 3 format at the start of the year to enable us to accomodate everyone in the early season meetings, with the 3rd race of each day allowing the newcomers to shine. This means we can accomodate up to 60 riders per event during the opening 4 rounds and this should cater for all registered riders.

Thundersport GB and IN Competion along with our series partners and supporters Aprilia, Dunlop, Nitro, Black Horse Finance, Lexham Insurance, Bikesport News and Donington Park continue to work diligently to maintain the status of the series as the worlds best championship for young riders.

Wishing you all a successful and safe 2009.

See you at the track very soon!
