2008 Season

I have had a great season this year. I first tried Supermoto in July 2007 and I took to it really well. I finished on the podium at my first race meeting at Teeside and got everyone talking about my exceptional speed and bike control for an eleven year old!

Well it continued into this season where I started winning races. My biggest competitor this year was Ollie Harrison. Ollie is fifteen years old and in his fith year of Supermoto which has meant that he has a lot more experience than me. This showed because I led every race this season from the start but in most races Ollie managed to pass me to take the win. I suppose he deserved it thiough because he has been runner up the last two seasons. He has now moved up to the S3 (250cc) class for 2009 and I wish him all the best because he is the most talented Supermoto rider I have seen this year,

Back to me, and I started well winning a race at the first round on the National series and finishing second overal. I again won a race at the first round of the British Championships and had two second places which gave me second overal again. I won all twelve races I have entered in the Southern Supermoto Championship and was the only member to have a 100% record. Unfortunately for me I only done four rounds of the twelve so could only finish sixth in the Championship. I crashed in qualifying at the second round of the British Championships and broke my thumb! I still raced in all six races giving me second overal again. We then decided to pull out of the British Championships because there were not enough riders to race against. It did not seem worth the eight hour journey to Crail in Scotland to race against four other riders! However, I did ride in the last round at the Eastlands Stadium in Manchester. This was to be the biggest ever Supermoto even the UK has ever seen. It was spectacular with loads of spectators and the best off road section Supermoto has seen for years. I again finnished second behind Ollie which gave me fourth in the Championship (I missed four rounds!). I regret not doing every round now because I would have deffinately finnished second in the Championship but "hey you can't do everything" as dad say's.

I have done every round of the Gimoto Nora National Championship except one and that was because I raced at Donnington in my first ever Superteen race in front of 90,000 people. Dad said you can race at Blyton (the old maggot farm) or you can race at the Donnington GP in front of Rossi and Toseland. Well sorry to everyone at Nora but I had no choice!

I finnished second in this Championship behind Ollie and again won some races along the way but all in all it has been a fantastic season for me.

I would like to thank all of my sponsors especially MW Racing and Pemberton Tyres because without Mike fixing my bike all season and Alan supplying my tyres I would not have been able to compete at the highest level. I would also like to thank all of the marhsalls and medical staff at these meetings because without them we would not be able to race and I think I have had my fair share of time with the medical staff this year!

I have met some great people in Supermoto and I would like to wish them all good luck with their racing in the future. It is a shame that I will not be racing Supermoto next year because I would have had a great chance of being British Champion but it is not possible for me to change bikes and riding styles week in and week out and ride at the highest level so I have decided to race only in the Aprillia Superteens in 2009 and try to further my road racing career.

Good luck in 2009 Jordan #39
